Henry A. Stutzman


SANDY LAKE — Henry A. Stutzman, 81, of Sandy Lake, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013, at the Life Care Hospital, Pittsburgh, with his family by his side.

Mr. Stutzman was born in Plain City, Ohio, on Oct. 19, 1931, son of the late Alvin and Susan (Hershberger) Stutzman. On Dec. 3, 1966, he married the former Mary Hostetler, who survives. 

Henry had been employed by the former Greenville Steel Car which later became AMPCO, Pittsburgh and Trinity Industries, Greenville, from which he had retired after 31 years of service.

He was a member of Lakeview Church of God, Stoneboro. Henry was family oriented and made his family his number one priority, always enjoying being surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Stutzman is survived by a daughter, Melody A. Podvasnik and her husband, Keith Sr., of Cochranton; two sons, Donald L. and his wife, Karen A., Stutzman of Sandy Lake, and Bryan W. Stutzman of Sandy Lake; a sister, Katie Miller and her husband, Ura, of Sandy Lake; a sister-in-law, Darlene of Texas; seven grandchildren, Ryan Stutzman, Ashley Stutzman, Andrew Stutzman, Salena Stutzman, Keith Podvasnik Jr., Zackery Podvasnik and Alana Podvasnik; and a great-grandson, Cylas Fry-Stutzman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two brothers.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Lakeview Church of God, 2479 Mercer Road, Stoneboro, with the Rev. Nick Wilson, Same Hostetler and Elmer Hostetler, Jr. officiating.

The committal service and interment will follow in Maple Grove Mennonite Cemetery, Deer Creek Township.

Friends may call at Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 3223 Perry Highway, Sheakleyville, on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service.
