SLIPPERY ROCK — C. Wade Cooper, 88, of Slippery Rock, Brady Township, Butler County, passed away at VNA Hospice, Technology Drive, Butler, on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014, at 2:15 a.m. He was born Oct. 2, 1925, in Brady Township, Butler County, on the farm where he spent his entire life until his entering Grove Manor, in Grove City, where he received excellent care during the past two and half years of life. Wade was a son of Finley Wimer Cooper and Jayne E. Wade Cooper. He married Caroline Elizabeth Mackey on May 6, 1953.

He was a lifetime dairy farmer where he bred, raised and showed registered Holstein cattle. He was a member of Butler County Farm Bureau and the Pennsylvania Holstein Association. He was a member of West Liberty Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Caroline, to whom he was married to for more than 60 years and resides at Grove Manor in Grove City; a son, Bradley W. and wife, Beth Cooper, of Slippery Rock; three daughters, Nadena L. Kramer and husband, Bill, of Carlton, Sylvia J. Morrison and husband, Larry, of Slippery Rock, and Lisa B. Leach and husband, Rob, of Linwood, Kan.; two sisters, Gail Baker of Butler, and Doris Hohri and husband, Tak, of Long Beach, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Wendell.

Family will receive friends at Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at 3 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Saturday at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Donna Yanosy, pastor of West Liberty Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Interment will be in West Liberty Cemetery.
