MEADVILLE — Tenney Fields, 93, of Meadville, formerly of Vallejo, Calif., died Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at Wesbury United Methodist Community.

She was born Nov. 7, 1920, in Gans, Okla., to the late William Isaac Barnes and Elnora Southerland Barnes.

She married Aaron Virgil Fields in 1940. The lived in Honolulu, Hawaii, where their son Charles was born. They returned to the States in 1948.

She was employed as a bookkeeper in the medical field, retiring from Children’s Hospital in 1987.

She was of Presbyterian faith.

She loved to cook. She enjoyed her visits with family and will be greatly missed.

Tenney is survived by two-grandsons, Dennis Alan (Michelle) Fields of Adel, Ga., and Joseph Lamar (Randi) Fields of Springboro; eight great-grandchildren, Michael, Damien, Jonathan and Russell of Adel, and Christian, Sonsuray, Chloe and Chelsie of Springboro; and a former daughter-in-law, Diana Watson of Conneautville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Charles Aaron Fields; two sisters, Anna Rodgers and Minnie McCullough; and a brother, John Barnes, all of Oklahoma.

Services will be private under the direction White-Cool Funeral Home, Gina M. McCauley, funeral director, 1405 Main St., Conneautville.
