MEADVILLE — Frank M. (Butch) James, 82, of Croton, Ohio, died Tuesday morning, Dec., 12, 2012, at Bennington Glen Nursing Center in Marengo, Ohio.

He was born on March 3, 1930, in Columbus to the late Reed and Vera (Flescher) James. He was a retired driver for Licking County Highway Department and former owner of the Croton Elevator.

He was a member of the Croton United Methodist Church and a former Croton volunteer fireman.

Frank was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan. He would rather have been working or spending time with his family than doing anything else.

He is survived by daughters Melissa James of Norwalk, Ohio, and Rebecca James of Sewickley; a son, Don (Teri) James of Centerburg, Ohio; and grandchildren Courtney (Tony) Shaver and Cameron James.

He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 57 years, Barbara R. (Taylor) James on Sept. 8, 2007.

Friends may call Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, State Route 3 at 61, Sunbury, Ohio. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Hartford Cemetery, with his son Don James officiating.
