Patricia Murphy Chisholm

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. — Patricia Murphy Chisholm, 86, of Ormond Beach, Fla., passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing.

Patricia L. Murphy was born in Meadville on March 4, 1927. A graduate of Meadville Area Senior High in 1945, she was wed to Daniel C. Chisholm on Sept. 4, 1947. Pat worked for Talon Zipper Co. from 1965 until her retirement in 1983 as secretary to the vice president for sales and marketing. After living, working and raising her family in Meadville, Pat retired with her husband, Dan, to Ormond Beach, where they have resided since 1988. Pat has been a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church while a resident of Ormond Beach.

Patricia is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, Daniel Chisholm; her son, William Chisholm, and daughter-in-law, Carla Chisholm; her son, Michael Chisholm, and daughter-in-law, Patrice Chisholm; her daughter, Susan Pentz, and son-in-law, Corky Pentz; her daughter, Karen Bailey, and son-in-law, Barry Bailey; and her daughter, Nannette Chisholm, and son-in-law, Jeff Liddle. Pat is also survived by her grandchildren, Brock Chisholm, BreAnn Chisholm, Jordan Chisholm, Colleen Chisholm, Iain Chisholm, Ryan Bailey, Max Liddle and Ben Liddle; as well as her great-grandchildren, Naomi and Heath Chisholm, and Violet Moulin. Pat is also survived by her two sisters, Anne Burgess and Rita Varricchio.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mabel Murphy, and father, Charles Murphy; as well as her brothers, Gordon and Charles Murphy; and her sisters, Marion Siple, Jeannette Shilling, Ellen King and Kay Ramstack.

Known for her ability to make her friends and family feel loved and welcomed, Pat enjoyed many things in life. Some of her favorite times were spent boating and picnicking with family, gardening, hosting parties for friends and family, cooking, spending quiet time with her husband, Dan, playing cards and visiting with neighbors, and traveling to visit her many children and grandchildren. Patricia was a devoted mother, wife and good friend to many. Her wry sense of humor, her deep faith and her gentle presence will be missed by all.

The family is making plans for a memorial and mass to be held at St. Brigid’s Catholic Church in Meadville at a future date in 2014. To be added to an email list to receive details of the service, please email the family at nchis646@gmail.com.
