Ralph Thomas Lindsey

MEADVILLE — Ralph Thomas Lindsey, 72, of Meadville, passed away Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born on May 5, 1940, a son of Ralph D. Lindsey and Margaret Humes Lindsey. He married Flossie Burnett on June 21, 2008, and she survives.

He was a 1958 graduate of Richland High School in Gibsonia.

Ralph was the regional manager of AP Auto Parts in charge of the whole East Coast, a manager for NAPA auto parts, and was the co-owner with Richard (Moose) Stierheim at Mead Auto Parts.

He volunteered at Meadville Medical Center for 15 years.

Ralph loved gardening — winning many blue and red ribbons at the Crawford County Fair for his vegetables — NASCAR, building race cars when he was young, hot air ballooning and was an avid Steelers fan.

He will be remembered most for always having a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone.

In addition to his loving wife, Flossie, he is survived by a son, Ralph E. Lindsey and his wife, Kimberly, of North Carolina; a grandson, Christopher Lindsey of North Carolina; two stepgrandchildren, Justin Merritt of Meadville and Ashley Merritt of North Carolina; a stepgreat-grandchild, Zoe Alexander of North Carolina; a sister, Judee Mastrillie of Michigan; and special friends, Andrew and Jessica Harkness and baby Ava.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Betty J. Lindsey; and best friend, his dog, Candy.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 544 Chestnut St., Meadville, with Pastor David Brumagin officiating.

Memorial donations may be made in Ralph’s memory to a charity of the donor’s choice.
