He raised a vegetable garden, enjoyed canning, then entering his goods in the Crawford County Fair. Before the electronic age, he loved working on cars, having worked on many over the years. He also loved riding his Gold Wing as well as driving his vintage Pontiac GTO.

In addition to his wife, Lea, of 41 years, Stephen is survived by three children, Aaron Marshall and his wife, Jacqueline, of Brentwood, Tenn., Kimberly Eaton and her husband, Dan, of Lake City, and Shane Marshall and his companion, Kimberlee Pilewski, of Lake City; three stepchildren, Jeffrey Carter and his wife, Denise, of Saegertown, R. Mizner Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 330 Broad St., Saegertown, and also on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Twelve Apostles Lutheran Church, 358 Euclid Ave., Saegertown, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with Kenneth Hough, pastor of Watson Run Church of God, officiating.
