COCHRANTON — Justin James Stasik, 27, of Cochranton, died on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at home following a nine-month illness.

Born on June 4, 1985, in McKees Rocks, he was a son of Gerald and Barbara Newton Stasik.

He was a 2003 graduate of Cochranton High School and also attended Erie Institute of Technology. He was employed with Davey Tree Service of Pittsburgh.

Survivors include his mother, Barbara, of Cochranton; a sister, Jessica Gregor and her husband, Michael, and their children, Hailee and Kendall Gregor, of Saegertown; a brother, Keith Reott and his wife, Chrissy, and their children, Gaven, Whitney, Mia and Caiden Reott, of Clive, Iowa; his maternal grandfather, Donald Newton of Meadville; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and special friends, Matt King and Allison Leaker of Cochranton.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald; his paternal grandparents, Edward and Mary Stasik; and his maternal grandmothers, Patricia Newton and Loretta Osten.

Friends will be received at Dickson Family Funeral Home Inc., 123 S. Franklin St., Cochranton, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gene Bender, great-uncle of Justin, and the Rev. Mark Rusnak, Asera Care chaplain, officiating.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to all of Justin’s care workers, especially Tracy Hogue, Jessica McMasters and Selena Walters of Asera Care, as well as Dr. Molly Samuels and nurse, Dawnmel, of the Yolando Barco Oncology Institute.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
