LAS VEGAS —
F. Louise Beckwith, 80, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, in Las Vegas.
She was born Dec. 21, 1932, at Brown Memorial Hospital, Conneaut, Ohio, to Hazel Brown Doan and Hugh Doan.
She lived in Ohio for three years, moving to North East for two years and then to Ripley, N.Y., where she attended school from first through a portion of her eighth-grade year and then moved to Riceville for the remainder of that year at Bloomfield School. Louise then moved to Meadville, where she attended Meadville High School for three years. She spent her senior year in Clayton, Mo., graduating in 1950. She returned to the Meadville-Riceville area. She worked at a jewelry store in Meadville, at the Boston Store jewelry department in Erie for a short time and then at Continental Rubber Works in Erie. Louise later worked at the Pennsylvania Department of Health for more than 20 years.
Louise met her future husband, Rex, at the Canadohta Lake roller rink. They were married on June 25, 1951. They skated through many years and raised their girls on skates, putting their older daughter on skates when she was 3 years old and the younger one at 18 months.
She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Las Vegas since July 2009 and a member of Riceville United Methodist Church since 1952.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Beckwith; and grandson, Timothy Mundaniohl.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Sue Coyne of Ocean Springs, Miss., and Debralee Beckwith of Las Vegas; granddaughter, Kimberly Evans and her husband, Kenneth, and great-grandsons, Kyle and Kody of Ocean Springs; a granddaughter-in-law, Shari Mundaniohl; and great-grandchildren, Tim, Scott, Mackenzie, Austin, Kirsten and Hunter.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Las Vegas.
Her body will be cremated and buried at a later date in their plot at Riceville Cemetery.
