MEADVILLE — Mary E. Zuschlag, 71, of Meadville, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community.

Mary was born in Geneva on May 2, 1942, a daughter of the late William Salem and Esther (Swartz) Hellman.

She was a homemaker and a member of Central Community Church, Transfer. Mary was a big fan of Elvis. She enjoyed fishing, painting, playing bingo and writing poetry. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

Mary is survived by three children, Alice Grinnell of Meadville, Charles Zuschlag of South Carolina and William Zuschlag of La Belle; her former daughter-in-law, Betty of Meadville; four grandchildren, Michelle Dow, Joann Hannold, Angela Zuschlag and Jessica Zuschlag; and four great-grandchildren, Damion Frost, Emily Hammond, Jeremiah Crawford and Nevaeh Hirt.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Anastashia Hannold and William Zuschlag; and a brother, David Hellman.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of family.

Arrangements are under the direction of Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville.
