CONNEAUTVILLE — James R. Zakostelecky, 66, of Conneautville, died peacefully Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Marquette Hospice House. He was born April 8, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late James E. Zakostelecky and Lucy A. Godinich Zakostelecky. He graduated from Linesville Conneaut Summit High School in 1966 and married Rebecca Moyer in 1969.

James was a dairy farmer most of his life. He started out working on the family farm as a boy and in 1986 took ownership. He served 15 years as a Conneaut Valley 4-H leader and many years on the dairy committee for the Crawford County Fair and served as past Jersey Breed chairperson. He attended Valley Church United Methodist for many years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, James G. Zakostelecky and his wife, Becca, of Hermitage, and Sean R. Zakostelecky and his wife, Tina, of Conneautville; seven grandchildren, James D. of Meadville, Chelsea of Cambridge Springs, Logan of Hermitage, Christopher of Conneautville, Nicole of Conneautville, Katelyn of Conneautville and Ashley of Conneautville; two brothers, Jeffrey Zakostelecky and his wife, Laurie, of Springboro, and Jerry Zakostelecky and his wife, Sandy, of Millersburg, Ohio; a sister, Joann Evans and her husband, Mark, of Conneautville; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends and family were received on Tuesday at White-Cool Funeral Home.

Pastor Bob Klingler from Valley Church United Methodist will officiate a service at the funeral home today at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Shaw Cemetery.
