Forrest L. McDowell, 68, of 9660 Second Ave., Orlando, formerly of Conneautville and Saegertown, passed away Friday, March 15, 2013, at Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs, Fla., following a brief battle with cancer.
He was born May 20, 1944, in Meadville, a son of the late Thomas L. and Thelma (Sally) Parsons McDowell.
He attended Conneaut Valley High School. He served in the U.S. Army in Ft. Hood, Texas, from 1961 to 1964. He spent the majority of his life working as a mechanic and a long-distance truck driver. He loved working with engines and anything involving mechanics, and he was the owner of McDoo’s Mower & Tractor, where he repaired tractors and did lawn mowing in the area.
He is survived by three sisters, Carol Gale of St. George, Utah; Marilyn (Robert) Jones of Saegertown and Mabel (Ronald) Cummings of Linesville; a brother, David (Betsy) McDowell of Meadville; his companion of four years, Naomi Cordell; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Thomas D. McDowell.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home, Pine Castle Chapel, 5800 Hansel Ave., Orlando. There will be no calling hours.
Interment will be at McDowell Cemetery, Dicksonburg Road, Linesville.
