MEADVILLE — Carl Andrew Blystone, 70, died at his residence, 219 1/2 Allegheny St., Meadville, on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013.

Born Sept. 26, 1943, in Meadville, Carl was a son of the late Lewis David Blystone Sr. and Margaret Lucille Cummings Blystone. He resided in Meadville for the past seven years.

Following his high school education, Carl enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving his nation during the Vietnam War.

For more than 30 years, Carl was a heavy equipment operator working out of Operating Engineers Local 66 of Pittsburgh, laying asphalt pavement.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and photography. He belonged to the Cambridge Rod and Gun Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 169 of Venango, American Legion Post 381 of Cambridge Springs, and the National Rifle Association.

Surviving Carl are three sisters, Thelma June Ellis of Monroe, Utah, Mary Lucille Tenny and her husband, John, of Meadville, and Judy Ann Boyles of Meadville; two brothers, Lewis D. Blystone Jr. and his wife, Mary, of Cambridge Springs, and Elmer Leroy Blystone of Meadville; and several nieces and nephews including Duane Blystone, Ricky Speck and Randy Speck.

Preceding Carl in death were two sisters, Shirley Ann Blystone and Anna Mae Speck; a nephew, Bobby Speck; and a brother-in-law, Bill Boyles.

No visiting hours or funeral are planned.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Van Matre Family Funeral Home, 335 Venango Ave., Cambridge Springs.
