Charles N. (Chuck) Troutner

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS — Charles N. (Chuck) Troutner, 83, of Cambridge Springs, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community. He was born on April 1, 1931, in Steuben Township, Crawford County, a son of Paul Troutner and Madelyn Hutchison Troutner. He married Florence Keith on July 3, 1976. She survives.

He was a graduate of Randolph High School and served his country with the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956. He did his basic training in North Dakota and was stationed in Miles City, Mont.

In 1955 he was voted most valuable player for Air Force baseball. Through many tragedies, he worked hard for everything he had but never complained. He was a true man’s man.

Chuck was a member of American Legion Post 205 and Sons of Lake Erie.

In his leisure, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and country dancing. Chuck loved working with his tractor and animals on his farm but was mostly fond of horses and his dogs, Bojangles and Weza. Above all, he treasured the time spent at home with his family and friends. He made his house a home and welcomed all who would stop by to visit.

In addition to his loving wife, Florence (Hunk), of 37 years, he is survived by two daughters, Debbie L. Gagalion and her husband, Tom, of Dillsburg, and Michelle L. Willis and her husband, Robert, of Saegertown; four sons, Gary N. Troutner and his wife, Susan, of Cochranton, David Troutner of Erie, Charles Jon Troutner of Saegertown and Bob Troutner of Erie; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lois Scott and her husband, Gary, of Schertz, Texas, and Joanne Dempsey and her husband, Norm, of Townville; three brothers, Eugene Troutner and his wife, Maria, of Benson, Ariz., Ed Troutner of Westfield, N.Y., and Paul Roland Troutner and his wife, Dolores, of Townville; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sandy L. Wetsell; a brother, William Gary Troutner; a sister, Margaret Lucille Staborsky; and twin infant siblings, Anna Jane Troutner and David Lee Troutner.

There will be no calling hours and a memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements are in the care of Willis L. Arnold Funeral Home, 33353 N. Main St., Townville, a branch of Roofner-Collins-Warren Funeral Home.
