COCHRANTON — Esther Marie Sommers, 94, of Cochranton (Wayne Township), went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, surrounded by her family.

Born on May 27, 1919, in Hartville, Ohio, she was a a daughter of the late Wallace and Amanda L. King Zook. On March 27, 1945, she married Menno E. Sommers, who preceded her in death.

Esther was a homemaker all of her life and attended Plainview Mennonite Church, Guys Mills.

Surviving are four sons, Mervin Sommers and his wife, Lois, of Jonesville, Mich., Ervin Sommers of Polk, Loren Sommers and his wife, Esther, of Hartville, and Willis Sommers and his wife, Deann, of Cochranton; a daughter, Beulah Reynolds and her husband, Maurice, of Cochranton; two sisters, Mary Jane Mullett from Ohio and Delilah Sommers from California; 17 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Ida Mae Sommers; a son, Raymond M. Sommers; a brother and three sisters.

Friends may call at Pleasantview Conservative Mennonite Church, County Line Road, Cochranton, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and may share memories and condolences online at rlsfh.com.

The funeral service will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the church, with Homer Zook officiating.

The interment will follow at Pleasantview Mennonite Cemetery.

Arrangements are with Robert L. Snyder Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 3223 Perry Highway, Sheakleyville.
