Helen Virginia (Ginnie) Trimmer

COCHRANTON — Helen Virginia (Ginnie) Trimmer, 81, of Cochranton, entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at St. Paul Homes, Greenville.

She was born Dec. 10, 1931, in Washington Court House, Ohio, to the late George W. Lower and Rose Ellen Ruth Lower. She grew up in the area and graduated from Washington High School. She was an active member and deaconess at Sugar Creek Baptist Church and worked at Orthmeyer’s Bakery while living in Washington Court House.

After moving to Pennsylvania, she became a member of the United Methodist Church in Cochranton, where she served as president and treasurer of the UMC Women’s Society, a mission’s chairperson and a member of the choir. She was also a long-time member of the Women’s Club of Cochranton and for many years hosted its annual Christmas party.

On April 17, 1949, she married W. Dean Trimmer and he preceded her in death on Jan. 14,1999.

She leaves to mourn her passing her three daughters, Sharon K. Poux (Mike) of Cochranton, Brenda J. Poux (Chris) of Meadville and Denise A. Broadwater (Pat) of West Seneca, N.Y. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Michelle Gross (John), Melissa Clarke (Dean), AJ Poux, Arienne Simon (Wayne), Andrew Poux (Megan) and Madison Broadwater; five great-grandchildren, Chris O’Brien, Drew Clarke, Braeden and Caeley Simon and Vivienne Poux; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Pat Carter, Anna Lee Ferguson, Lynn Pence, Elsie Ingle, Sherry Perkins, Wayne Trimmer, John Trimmer, Bobby Trimmer and Terry Trimmer; along with many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, William D. Lower, Everett G. Lower, Donna M. Morris and Donald R. Lower.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at St. Paul Homes for the care and devotion extended to our mother and also to Southern Care Hospice for helping our mother’s passing to be peaceful and loving.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Helen Virginia Trimmer to St. Paul Homes, 339 E. Jamestown Road, Greenville, Pa. 16125.

Friends will be received on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Dickson Family Funeral Home Inc., 123 S. Franklin St., Cochranton.

The funeral service will be on Saturday at 3 p.m. from the funeral home, with the Rev. Greg Spencer of Cochranton United Methodist Church officiating.

Interment will be in Cochranton Cemetery.

(Doodee) Onspaugh Loper and the late Robert E. Loper on Sept. 13, 1946, in Geneva. She married William Payne March 27, 1965. He survives.
