Dorothy M. Burchill, 92, formerly of Cochranton, and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, Meadville, died Sunday, March 31, 2013, at Meadville Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
Born Feb. 18, 1921, in Freeport, she was a daughter of Boyd and Carrie Baker Myers. She married William K. Burchill Jan. 21, 1947, and he preceded her in death Oct. 24, 1993.
She had been employed at the former Talon, Meadville Woolworth’s, Meadville Wallpaper and Paints, Cochranton Red and White and Golden Dawn Grocery stores.
Her hobbies included reading, doing crossword puzzles, canning, sewing and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include a son, Wm. Scott Burchill of Cochranton; a daughter, Kimberly R. Burchill and her husband, Frank T. Hriso, of Meadville; and a sister, Goldie M. Myers of Natrona Heights.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Webber; and a brother, Charles Myers.
Friends will be received today from 4 to 7 p.m. at Dickson Family Funeral Home Inc., 123 S. Franklin St., Cochranton.
The funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. David Brumagin officiating.
Following cremation, interment will be in Mumford Cemetery.
