Donald B. Prenatt Jr., 84, of Meadville, died at home surrounded by his family, Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012.
He was born in Sharon, Sept. 8, 1928, a son of Donald B. and Florence Ritenour Prenatt Sr. He married Clara Louise Hart on Sept. 28, 1952, and she survives.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Air Force in Japan. He worked as a dairy farmer, retiring after 40 years. He enjoyed walking the Woodcock Dam, reading about World War II, target shooting and spending time with his family. He was a lifetime member of Huidekoper Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Clara, of 60 years, include three children, Larry Prenatt of Meadville, Luann Kirkpatrick and her husband, Tim, of Meadville, and Lynn Prenatt and his wife, Natalie, of Meadville; five grandchildren, Monnie Kirkpatrick, Maile Kirkpatrick, Tyler Cook, Rylee Prenatt and Elliot Prenatt; a great-grandson, Elijah Cook; a brother, Gerald Prenatt of Erie; three sisters-in-law, Eva Prenatt of Meadville, Nancy Prenatt of Centerville and Vendy Prenatt of Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, James Prenatt, Douglas Prenatt and David Prenatt; and a sister, Helen Livermore.
Visitation will be Dec. 15 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville, with military honors at 3 p.m. provided by VFW Post 2006.
Interment will be in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
