TRENTON, Fla. —
Shirley Irene Peelman, 85, of Trenton, Fla., formerly of Meadville, passed away Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at Haven House, Chiefland, Fla., surrounded by her family.
She was born in Steubenville, Ohio, April 17, 1928, a daughter of the late Morris and Irene (Hill) Eynon.
On June 26, 1944 she married Glenn C. Peelman. He preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 1999.
Shirley was a former owner of Butch's Pub in the late 1960s and retired after many years of service from the former Talon, Inc. of Meadville where she worked as an inspector. She enjoyed reading and spending time with all her grandchildren and loved watching them grow.
Shirley is survived by two children, Glenn Peelman and his wife, Sandi, of Trenton, Fla., and Irene Mulligan of Meadville; a nephew, Stanley Lawrence of Conneaut Lake whom she helped raise; six grandchildren, Terri Bogardus and her husband, Russell, of Meadville, Patricia Mulligan of Pittsburgh, Don Peelman and his wife, Shirley, of Mobile, Ala., Barbara Kelly and her husband, Dennis, of Chesapeake, Va., Jodi Dize and her husband, Alonza, of Georgetown, Ky., and Joseph Mulligan of Meadville; nine great-grandchildren, Teagan Lindsey, Zachary and Michael Bogardus, Ariana, Ayden and Alexa Kelly, Louis Peelman, Alonza and Elise Dize; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Glenn, of 54 years, Shirley was preceded in death by a son, Donald; two sisters Meredith Waid and Margaret Lawrence; a brother, Donald Eynon; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced.
