Augie Saggio, 91, of 380 Arch St., Meadville, passed away Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at Wesbury United Methodist Community.
Augie was born in Meadville, Aug. 22, 1922, a daughter of the late Anthony and Rosalie (Piazza) Saggio.
She was a member of St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church and the Altar Rosary Society.
In 1985 Augie retired, with more than 40 years of service, from the former Talon Inc., of Meadville where she worked in the fastener department. She was a 1941 graduate of Meadville High School.
Augie was a member of the Italian Civic Club Auxiliary; a life-member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas; and a former member of Meadville Elks Auxiliary. In her earlier years she enjoyed baking and sewing.
She is survived by a brother, Louis Saggio of Meadville; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Nick Saggio and Philip Saggio; and a sister, Mildred Frisina, with whom she lived.
Calling hours are Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where a Scripture service will be conducted at 3 p.m. and a Catholic Daughters of the Americas (CD of A) service will be held at 3:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 383 Arch St., Meadville, with Fr. Johnathan Schmolt of the church as celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Township.
