John W. Hutson Jr., 70, of Carlton died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, at Meadville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Born June 15, 1943, in Uniontown, he was the son of John W. and Betty L. Clark Hutson Sr. He married Loretta (Lori) Malinky on Sept. 26, 1970; she survives.
He was a sergeant with the U.S. Air Force, serving from July 1964 until discharged in July 1968.
After returning from military, he worked at LTV Steel in Cleveland as a stationary engineer. Locally, he worked at Morco and also Advance Cast in Meadville and retired in 2006.
He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Cochranton, enjoyed fishing, watching the Cleveland Indians and Browns, and he cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years; a son, John W. Hutson III of Pittsburgh; two daughters, Michele L. Brumagin and her husband, Jeff, of Guys Mills and Donna M. Hutson and her fiancée, Ken Dent, of Carlton; a brother, Robert J. Hutson and his wife, Marilyn, of North Ridgeville, Ohio; three grandchildren, Jade and Devin Rhoads and Kiley Dent and his dog Mia.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Percilla LeMasters; and a granddaughter, Chloe Dent.
Friends will be received at the Dickson Family Funeral Home Inc., 123 S. Franklin St., Cochranton, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church with the Rev. Daniel Prez as celebrant. A scripture service will be held today at 8:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the New Lebanon Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Cochranton American Legion Post 836.
