WILMINGTON, Del. —
Inez E. Prenatt, 92, of Wilmington, Del., passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 13, 2013.
Inez was born in Meadville, a daughter of the late Leon G. and Alta C. Pees Prenatt. She was raised on the family’s farm along with her nine older siblings, Lelia Theuret, Donald Prenatt, Catherine Conrad, Thelma Brunot, Leon Prenatt, Anna Stevens, Walter Prenatt, Ruth Benson and Robert Prenatt, all who preceded her in death.
Inez was employed in Accounts Receivable at several local department stores before moving to New Jersey in 1962. She worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone then transferred to Delaware where she worked for Diamond State Telephone until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of the Delaware Pioneers volunteer organization.
Inez loved taking walks; reading; and going out to lunch with her niece, Beth. She loved her apartment and the many friends she made there over the years. Most of all, she loved her family — her family in Delaware as well as back home in Meadville. Inez was spunky. She was extremely proud of being independent and self-reliant right up to her death.
Inez is survived in Delaware by her nephews, Eric Benson and his wife, Kim, and Jeff Benson and his wife, Beth; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Scott, Jenny, Brian, Mary Kate and Garrett; and a multitude of other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins, many of whom live in the Meadville area.
Calling hours will be Friday from 10 a.m. to noon, with a funeralto follow at noon, at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
Interment will be in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
