Leo F. Talbot, 80, of 15536 Kings Drive, Meadville, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Presbyterian.
He was born Sept. 20, 1928, in Louann, Ark., a son of the late Frank V. and Wanda May Courtney Talbot. He married Barbara Gill, June 12, 1950.
A graduate of East Fallowfield High School, he was employed as an airplane mechanic for 35 years, retiring from the Beaver County Airport. He previously worked for the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad, Meadville.
A member of Fallowfield United Methodist Church, he was a member and secretary of the Atlantic Odd Fellows and enjoyed hunting, gardening and his John Deere equipment.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Barbara, of 58 years, include a daughter, Genevieve McKalip and her husband Bob of Conneaut Lake; a son, Leo Talbot Jr. and his wife, Mary, of Cochranton; four grandchildren, Shellie McKalip of Harmonsburg, Ronald McKalip of Cochranton, Winston Talbot of Pittsburgh, and Mitchell Talbot of Pittsburgh; three great-grandchildren, Andalyn and Andrew McKalip, and Isabella Talbot; two sisters, Rena Rigby and her husband, Chuck, of Texas, and Patricia Miller and her husband, Michael, of Burgettstown; two brothers, Lloyd Talbot and his wife, Soundra, of Tucson, Ariz., and Gerald Talbot of Shermansville; and nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, 12422 Conneaut Lake Road, Conneaut Lake.
The funeral and committal service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Russell Hines, retired United Methodist clergyman, officiating.
Interment will be in Rocky Glen Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
