MILLCREEK TOWNSHIP, Erie County — Alfred (Bud) Michael O’Malley, 85, resident of Millcreek Township, Erie County, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, at St. Mary’s Home, Asbury Ridge, Erie, following a period of declining health.

Born Jan. 23, 1922, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was a son of the late Alfred and Emma Mueller O'Malley. On Dec. 27, 1958, he married Rose DeFino Conway and she preceded him in death June 16, 2007.

While living in Cleveland, he was self-employed as an automobile dealer for more than 30 years. Moving to Erie in 1988, he served as secretary and treasurer for Conway and O'Malley Goodyear Inc. until his retirement in 2004. Mr. O’Malley was a decorated World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy and seeing action in the Pacific Theater and in the North Atlantic from 1943 until 1945.

He was a lifetime member of the American Motorcycle Association.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his wife, Rose, of 48 years, include a daughter-in-law, Terri A. Conway; a sister, JoAnn Ribar; and three brothers, Jack O’Malley, George O’Malley and Darrell O’Malley.

Surviving him is a son, Michael P. O’Malley and his wife, Jane, of Cambridge Springs; a stepdaughter, Kathleen A. Klein and her husband, Allen, of Cleveland; three stepsons, John T. Conway and his wife, Kim, of Erie, Timothy R. Conway of Cleveland and Jeffrey T. Conway of Erie; four grandchildren, Emily, Michael, Brian and Kevin O’Malley; 10 stepgrandchildren, William, Mathew, Jennifer and Kathryn Klein, Leslie, Kellie and J.T. Conway, Rachael Nutter, and David and Erin Conway; two great-granddaughters, Allison and Colleen; and a sister, Grace Gallagher.

Friends may call at Van Matre Family Funeral Home, 306 Erie St., Edinboro, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, 6265 Columbia Road, North Olmstead, Ohio.

Memorials may be given to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 1030 State St., Erie, Pa. 16501; or the American Cancer Society, 2115 W. 38th St., Erie, Pa. 16508.
