Published November 08, 2009 07:24 pm - Terry D. Doolittle Sr., 64, of 21761 Golden Drive, Meadville, and formerly of Lake City, died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, at Meadville Medical Center after a brief illness, surrounded by his family.

Terry D. Doolittle Sr., 64, of 21761 Golden Drive, Meadville, and formerly of Lake City, died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, at Meadville Medical Center after a brief illness, surrounded by his family.

He was born on Dec. 27, 1944, in Union City, the son of the late Gerald and Lulubell Fuller Doolittle. He married Elaine E. Sposkoski on Dec. 30, 1966. She preceded him in death on Oct. 16, 2005.

He was a veteran of the National Guard.

He had retired from Giant Eagle after 30 years as the manager of the dairy and frozen food department.

He enjoyed NASCAR and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Pirates. He also enjoyed watching The Weather Channel.

He was a loving father, husband and grandfather, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters, Lisa Whipple and her husband, Scott, of Townville and Sheila Doolittle of Girard; a son, Terry Doolittle Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, of Meadville; five grandchildren, Jeremy Herman, Sammy Mowry Jr., Austin Vorse, Alexis Doolittle and Cole Doolittle; a brother, Dennis Doolittle of Mesa, Ariz.; two nieces, Karen Musarra and her husband, Scott, of Fairview and Amy Doolittle of Mesa; and a nephew, Ryan Doolittle and his wife, Brandy, of Mesa, Ariz.

Graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family, in Kingsley Cemetery, Townville.

Memorials can be made to the Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Wellness Center, 16792 Conneaut Lake Road, Meadville, Pa. 16335.

Arrangements are being handled by Roofner-Collins Funeral Home, 544 Chestnut St., Meadville.
