Published November 05, 2009 11:59 pm - Lois E. McNutt, 99, of 20881 State Highway 198, Saegertown, formerly of 747 Grant St., Saegertown, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown, where she had been a resident since June 2003.

SAEGERTOWN — Lois E. McNutt, 99, of 20881 State Highway 198, Saegertown, formerly of 747 Grant St., Saegertown, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown, where she had been a resident since June 2003.

Lois was born in Meadville on Oct. 24, 1910, a daughter of the late William Frank and Ida Brown Murray. On June 20, 1942, Lois married William Clyde McNutt; he preceded her in death on June 18, 1981.

Lois retired from Crawford Central School District in the early 1970s, where she had been employed as a teacher at East End, Second District and First District Elementary schools. A 1930 graduate of Meadville High School, Lois went on to earn her teaching degree from Edinboro Normal School in 1933.

She was a member of the Golden Crown Chapter of the Eastern Star, a former member of Lakeland Grange and Saegertown United Methodist Women.

Lois is survived by a daughter, Lois Kay Williams and her husband, Gary, of Saegertown; three grandchildren, Irene Lenhart and her husband, Brian, Michele Wright and her husband, Vince, and Debrah Luchansky and her husband, Ron Jr.; six great-grandchildren, Amanda Wright, Kristen Wright, Brianne Lenhart, Lindsey Lenhart, Kyle Luchansky and Kaylee Luchansky.

In addition to her parents and husband, William, Lois was preceded in death by a brother, William Sackett Murray.

Family and friends are invited to call today from 10 to 11 a.m. at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. (formerly known as Hunter Funeral Home), 330 Broad St., Saegertown, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Larry Peters, pastor of the United Methodist Church, Westover, W.Va., officiating.

Interment will take place in Greendale Cemetery, West Mead Township

Memorial contributions may be made to Crawford County Care Center, 20881 State Highway 198, Saegertown, Pa. 16433.
