Gynell Rolison Moffett, 82, formerly of 14787 State Highway 285, Conneaut Lake, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, Meadville. She had been a resident there for four years.

Gynell was born Feb. 17, 1927, at Needham, Ala. She was a daughter of the late Ledyard Thomas and Lula Boykin Rolison. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elton Ray Moffett, in 1997.

She was a graduate of Choctaw County High School, Butler, Ala. Most of her life she was a dedicated caregiver for the elderly in Mississippi and Pennsylvania. Her last position was for the late Hazel Rutherford of Conneaut Lake for 12 1/2 years.

Gynell was a true Christian lady. She loved God and her family with all her heart. She was a loving mother and grandmother and a real friend to many. Her family and friends will miss her forever.

She was affiliated with Allida Smith Wesleyan Methodist Church. In past years, she served in other churches as youth leader, Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent and other positions. She was always glad to share her testimony of God’s wonderful love and grace.

She is survived by two daughters, Kay Moffett Bossard and her husband, Berkley, of Conneaut Lake, and Robin Moffett Giles and her husband, Donald, of Cochranton; her grandsons, Jason Giles and his wife, Crystal, of Franklin, and Berkley Bossard III of Conneaut Lake; three stepgrandchildren, Berkey Bossard Jr. and his wife, Debra, Beverly Riffe and her husband, Ken, and Brenda Goodall of Hermitage, and stepgreat-grandchildren; two sisters, Troy Rolison and Lolita Rolison, both of Pushmataha, Ala.; three brothers, E.T. Rolison Sr., Rudy Rolison of Pushmataha and L.T. Rolison of Livingston, Ala.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews in Alabama.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Lucile Johnson, Dean Jones and Rolinda Rolison, all of Alabama; and a brother, Carl Rolison, also of Alabama.

Visitation will be at Dickson Funeral Home, 130 N. Second St., Conneaut Lake, on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from noon to 2 p.m.

The service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. William Peak, minister of Allida Smith Wesleyan Church in Meadville, officiating.

Memorials may be made to the family or a charity of choice.

Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
