LINCOLNVILLE — Rev. William (Bill) E. Cox, 45, of Lincolnville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at St. Vincent Health Center, Erie.

William was born June 27, 1964, in San Jose, Calif., a son of Gertrude Johnson Cox and the late Joe Cox.

He held a master of divinity degree, was pastor of Lincolnville Baptist Church, and was a member of the Union City Ministerium, the Spartansburg Ministerium and the Ministers of Missionaries. He also held a substitute teacher’s certificate, being able to teach in the Union City Area School District.

He was a loving husband and father.

He was a very caring man who loved his Lord and Savior, and he believed in helping his neighbors whenever needed.

Besides his father, Joe, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Bruce Cox, shortly after birth.

Survivors include his wife, Jeannie Palmer Cox of Lincolnville; three sons, David, Dalton and Michael, all at home; his mother, Gertrude Johnson Cox of California; three sisters, Jennie Unger and her husband, Jerry, of Pleasanton, Calif., Caryl Wilkerson of Idaho and Janice Williams and her husband, Troy, of Utah.

Friends are invited to call at Lincolnville Baptist Church, 22530 Mill St., Centerville, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., and may attend the funeral there on Thursday at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Don Girdwood officiating.

Interment will be at the convenience of the family.

Memorials are requested to Jeannie Cox Fund for Children, 22452 Mill St., Centerville, Pa. 16404; Lincolnville Baptist Church, 22530 Mill St., Centerville, Pa. 16404; the American Diabetes Foundation, 300 Penn Center Blvd., Suite 602, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15235; or to the charity of one’s choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Glenn Funeral Home, 62 S. Main St., Union City.
