LINESVILLE — Athel Myrl Snyder, 78, of Linesville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday morning, Nov. 2, 2009, at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, Meadville.
She was born Feb. 22, 1931, in Erie, a daughter of Alta J. and Inez M. Burt. She married Charles A. Snyder on April 1, 1949, in Winchester, Ind.; he preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 2006.
She was a graduate of the Ora Jean Beauty School of Erie.
Athel was a devoted wife and a loving mother. She was a former member of Linesville First Baptist Church. She also attended the Assembly of God Church in Meadville before moving to Brookville, Fla., where she resided for 14 years before returning to Linesville. She served the Lord through her churches and the Meadville Women’s Aglow.
Survivors include two daughters, Louise Zolnai and her husband, Robert, of Linesville, and Linda Foust and her husband, Kenneth, of Conneaut Lake; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters and a brother.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U. S. Highway 6, Linesville.
The funeral will follow the calling hours at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Philip Torre of First Assembly of God in Meadville officiating.
Burial will be in Penn Line Cemetery.
