SAEGERTOWN — Paul F. Cowan, 62, of Saegertown, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, enjoying one of his favorite pastimes, archery deer hunting in the Saegertown area.
Mr. Cowan was born Oct. 25, 1947, a son of the late Joseph Cowan and Sarah McLennan Cowan. He married Terry Buckley on May 7, 1977.
He retired Oct. 25, 2009, (his birthday) from Greenleaf, Saegertown, from the Saeger Carbine Building as a CNC operator with more than 20 years of employment. He previously had been employed at Avtex in Meadville before it closed. Mr. Cowan was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps from 1964 to 1968 and had received a purple heart during his tour of duty.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years; three daughters, Teresa Cowan-Christen and her husband, Brian, of Wichita, Kan., Stephanie Cleversy and her husband, Dana, of Ashtabula, Ohio, and Sally Engstrom and her husband, Michael, of Greenville; a sister, Alice Lincoln of Rhode Island; two brothers, John Cowan of West Ossipee, N.H., and Dennis Cowan of Florida; and three grandchildren, Kylie and Nathan Annick and Sophia Cleversy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Joseph and Gerard Cowan; a sister, Sarah Zaldocks; and her stepfather, Bob Clark.
Visitation will be at Dickson Funeral Home, 130 N. Second St., Conneaut Lake, on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m., with the funeral at 4 p.m., with the Rev David Brumagin, associate minister of Trinity United Methodist Church, officiating.
