LINESVILLE — Margaret Johanne Gruber, 72, of Linesville and formerly of Atlantic, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, at UPMC Pittsburgh, following a battle with cancer.
She was born in Grove City, March 10, 1937, a daughter of Kenneth and Margaret Easley McJunkin.
She married Vallaise R. (Doggie) Gruber on Dec. 30, 1961, in Chester, W.Va., and he survives.
She retired in 2000 from PPG after 18 years of service where she worked on the packing line. She was also a co-owner with her husband in the Chrystal Lake Inn, Hartstown, for 16 years.
She was a member of Linesville Presbyterian Church. She was a 1955 graduate of Grove City High School. She was a member of the PPG Ladies Golf League and the Andover Ladies Golf League. She enjoyed watching people in the casino.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, Vallaise R. (Doggie) Gruber, of 48 years, include a daughter, Valerie Burdett and her husband, Russ, of Hadley; a son, Rodney R. Gruber of Linesville; and a sister, Linda Stallsmith and her husband, Ed, of Meadville.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Waid-Coleman Funeral Home Inc., 12422 Conneaut Lake Road, Conneaut Lake.
The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bryan Powell, pastor of Linesville Presbyterian Church, officiating.
