BUTLER — Jennie A. Cianchetti, 97, of 117 W. Muntz Ave., Butler, formerly of 703 Pine St., Meadville, passed away Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, at home.

She was born in Curtisville on Nov. 21, 1911, a daughter of the late Robert and Gemma D'Amario Deletto.

On Nov. 20, 1932, she married John E. Cianchetti; he preceded her in death on March 3, 1975.

She had been an active member St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, Meadville, and its Altar Rosary Society. Jennie enjoyed working and helping out at the church in any way she could.

While living in Meadville, Jennie was a 60-year member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas-Court Columbia No. 2 and the Italian Civic Club Auxiliary.

A dedicated homemaker, Jennie enjoyed taking care of her family. She deeply loved her husband, each one of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her nurturing way, she made each one feel as though they were the only one. Jennie loved cooking for family gatherings. Her sweet, gentle way extended beyond family as she loved being around people and never had an unkind thing to say.

She is survived by three daughters Donna Hitz and her husband, Ernest, of New York, N.Y., Erma Wilson of Warren, Ohio, Janice Mesler and her husband, Fred, of Morristown, N.J., a son, John J. Cianchetti and his wife, Kathy, of Butler with whom she resided; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ann Pollina of Navenville, Ill.; a brother, Anthony Deletto of Grove City; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, John, of 42 years; she was preceded in death by three sisters, Alice Isacco, Antonetta Guerrini, Elizabeth Travaglini; two brothers, Joseph Deletto and Robert Deletto; and a son-in-law Joseph Wilson.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where a Catholic Daughters of the Americas Service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, Meadville, at 1 p.m. Wednesday with Fr. Richard J. Toohey, pastor of the church as celebrant.

Interment will take place in St. Brigid Cemetery, West Mead Township.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 1085 Water St., Meadville, Pa., 16335.
