Robert A. Beck
Robert A. Beck, 69, of 10951 Cutter Road., Meadville, died Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, at Golden Living Center, Cambridge Springs, following an extended illness.
He was born in Linesville Sept. 17, 1940, a son of the late Andrew and Elizabeth (Betty) Gehring Beck. He married Carolyn Vogus Sept. 1, 1962.
He was a 1958 graduate of Linesville High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1958 to 1961. He was employed as an electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 712 for more than 30 years. He enjoyed coin and stamp collecting, bowling, and reading.
He was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Carolyn, of 47 years, include four daughters, Kristie Nelson and her husband, John, of Meadville, Stacey Leach and her companion, James Preite, of Conneaut Lake, Jennifer Beck of Erie, and Hallie Graham and her husband, James, of Cochranton; five grandchildren, Ashley Copeland of Frederick, Md., Dylan and Karsyn Leach of Conneaut Lake, and Hunter and Lainey Graham of Cochranton; two nephews, Daniel and Terry Beck of Meadville; and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Beck.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
Funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Bobbie Nelson officiating.
Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Meadville, with military honors provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006, Meadville.
