CONNEAUT LAKE — James H. Stock, 76, of Conneaut Lake, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 3, 1932, in Sankertown, a son of the late George L. and Anna Musk Stock. He married Shirley H. Ladenberger Feb. 4, 1956.

A 1950 graduate of Cresson High School, he was a U.S. Army veteran of Korea, serving from 1950 to 1952. He worked on a farm, as a salesman for Fuller Brushes, in a steel mill in Johnstown and was a school bus driver for 30 years. He was employed as the head of housekeeping at the Ebensburg Center for 25 years and subsequently as a security officer at Conneaut Lake Park, a power plant in Cochranton, Meadville Medical Center, and Wal-Mart where he later worked as a greeter. He additionally was a captain of the Barbara J on Conneaut Lake for 12 years.

A member of Fifth Street Presbyterian Church, Conneaut Lake, he enjoyed fishing and loved attending high school football games.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, Shirley, of 52 years, include four daughters, Christina Sirochman and her husband, Paul, and their children, Stephan and Samuel, of Philadelphia, Kimberley Raup and her husband, Vaughn, of Edinboro and Jim’s friend, “Tiger,” Holly Lane and her children, Nicholas and Connor, of Edinboro, and Jacqueline Uzarski and her husband, Michael, and her son, Emery, of Linesville; two sisters, Louise Rubisch and Anna Dolan, both of Ebensburg; two brothers, Robert Stock and his wife, Jean, of Berwyn, and Leonard Stock of Bolivar, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, 12422 Conneaut Lake Road, Conneaut Lake.

The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Conneaut Lake.

Memorials may be made to the Meadville Medical Center Foundation (for the Oncology Wellness Institute), 1015 Grove St., Meadville, Pa. 16335.
