GREENVILLE — Harold Edward Hallam, 90, of Greenville, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at UPMC Horizon, Greenville.
Born Dec. 3, 1917, in Pittsburgh, he was a son of Edward John and Sylvia Snell Hallam. He married Eva Ruth Sproul on Oct. 26, 1936; she survives.
He attended high school in Conneautville. He retired in 1980 from Sears in retail sales; he was known as “Hal” by all who knew him, and he was appreciated as being fair and honest in all his dealings.
He was a Jehovah’s Witness.
He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were all very fond of him.
Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Eva R. Hallam of Greenville; a daughter, Sandra L. Davenport and her husband, Paul B., of Greenville; five grandchildren, Timothy Davenport, Stephen Davenport, Rebecca Brickey, Deborah Hetrick and Esther Davison; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sylvia Hallam; and a sister, Edna J. Talbot.
Services are private and at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
