CRAFTON — James V. Cappellino, 89, of Crafton, formerly of Meadville, died peacefully with his loving wife, Madeline, of 65 years, at his side on Monday, Aug. 18, 2008.
He was the beloved father of Peter (Madeline), Frank and Dorothea Cappellino; grandfather of Lisa and Denise; great-grandfather of Noah and Zachary; and brother of Sam, Nick, Uda and Theresa, and deceased brothers and sisters.
Jim was a World War II veteran with the U.S. Army, where he started his cooking career at Indiantown Gap, continuing onto the Pittsburgh Athletic Association, the Horizon Room and Gladieux Food Service at the airport, Carnegie Mellon University and many others.
He was a member of Knights of Columbus 875 and a graduate of the Pittsburgh Chef’s Association.
Celebrate the life of Jim today only from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Schepner-McDermott Funeral Home Inc., 165 Noble Ave., Pittsburgh.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Philip Church, Crafton.
Burial with full military honors will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
