SAEGERTOWN — Phyllis A. Porter, 79, of Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown, died there Monday, Aug. 18, 2008.

She was born Nov. 16, 1928, in Meadville, a daughter of J. Alton and Bertha Baker Schlosser. She married Lawrence Porter, Jan. 10, 1948; he preceded her in death Feb. 17, 2007.

She worked at Saegertown Hardware. She set up voting machines for Crawford County for many years.

She loved to dance, enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and generally loved being with people.

Survivors include four daughters, Cindy Walts of Yorktown, Va., Bonnie Dillaman and her husband, Ron, of Saegertown, Shirley Dillaman and her husband, Steve, of Chesterfield, Va., and Paula Quartuccio and her husband, Pete, of Newport News, Va.; 11 grandchildren, Brian Ewing, David Ewing, Travis Porter, Justin Porter, Chad Dillaman, Stacy Braswell, June Deeter, Nicole Tribble, Kyle Dillaman, Tyler Dillaman and Nathan Alexander; three sisters, Nyla Groves and her husband, Patrick, of Meadville, Joann Bidwell and her husband, Robert, of Saegertown, and Diane Rossi of Richmond, Va.; three brothers, Raymond Schlosser and his wife, Patsy, Ronald Schlosser and his wife, Shirley, and Duane Schlosser and his wife Cheryl, all of Saegertown; 11 great-grandchildren and two on the way; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; and a son, Larry L. Porter.

The memorial service will be at a later date.
