Published August 07, 2008 11:10 pm - FOLEY, Ala. — Martha Jean Mortimer Clark Sprouse, 69, of Foley, Ala., formerly of Meadville, died Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 6, 2008, in South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Foley, after a long illness.

FOLEY, Ala. — Martha Jean Mortimer Clark Sprouse, 69, of Foley, Ala., formerly of Meadville, died Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 6, 2008, in South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Foley, after a long illness.
Born June 6, 1939, in Rimersburg, she was a daughter of Victor and Mary Mortimer.
She graduated from Union High School in Rimersburg in 1957. She married Robert L. Clark in 1959. She later in life remarried to William S. Sprouse in 1981. Over the years she worked at Parker Glass, Ohio Rubber, Crawford Central School District and Channellock Tools.
In her younger years she was avid in traveling and softball, in later years it was gardening and especially fishing, reading and canning. She was a past president of the auxiliary of the American Legion and was active in its membership for years. She enjoyed homemaking and had many friends who will miss her.
She is survived by two sons, Randall E. Clark of Foley and Brian P. Clark of Corsica; a granddaughter, Jessica Danielle Clark of Corsica; a brother, M. Richard (Dick) Mortimer of Freeport; and a sister, M. Jane Stitt of Foley; as well as several nieces and nephews.
There will be no services and interment will be in Rimersburg Cemetery.
