LAKE CITY — Louise E. Rokosky Mehok, 63, of Lake City, died Friday, July 18, 2008, at her home.
She was born Dec. 2, 1944, in DuBois, a daughter of the late William E. and Olympia DeChurch Rokosky.
Louise graduated from Sykesville High School in 1961 and later moved to the Lake City/Girard area in 1973, where she has resided since.
She worked at Spectrum Control in Fairview as an assembler for more than 20 years. She also worked at Crowley’s Restaurant and as a Home Interiors and Gifts demonstrator.
Louise was a member of Saints Cyril and Methodius Byzantine Catholic Church in Girard. She was also a member and mixologist at the American Legion auxiliaries in Girard and Fairview and McKean Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 740. She loved catering events and thrived being around and working with people. She was known to those that she was near to always say “happy happy,” continuing her encouraging attitude even in her illness.
Her husband and family were always her top priority and she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who cared for them all deeply.
Louise is survived by her husband of 43 years, Robert J. Mehok, whom she married Aug. 29, 1964, in Sykesville; three sons, Douglas R. Mehok and his wife, Leann, of Guys Mills, and Daniel J. Mehok and Shawn M. Mehok, both of Mechanicsburg; a sister, Joanne Quashnock of DuBois; two grandchildren, Evan D. Mehok and Kyle J. Mehok; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Sunday from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at Daniel R. Edder Funeral Home, 309 Main St. East, Girard.
The Panachida service will be conducted Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by the Divine Liturgy at 10:30 a.m. at Saints Cyril and Methodius Byzantine Catholic Church, 1022 Tilden Ave., Girard, with Father Kevin Marks officiating.
