ESPYVILLE — Ora F. Patton, 84, of Espyville, died Thursday, July 17, 2008, at his home.
He was born Jan. 4, 1924, in Espyville, a son of Peter F. and Lula Williams Patton.
A lifetime Espyville resident, Mr. Patton was employed as a rural mail carrier for the Espyville/Linesville post offices, retiring in 1984 after 27 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II, and he was a member of Westford United Methodist Church.
Mr. Patton enjoyed bowling, golfing and radio-controlled airplanes. He was a member of the Conneaut Lake Flyers Club.
Mr. Patton is survived by his wife of 44 years, Doris I. Cleland Patton, whom he married March 1, 1964, of Espyville; his son, David E. Patton of Gasport, N.Y.; his daughter, Kathy A. Davis of Espyville; six grandchildren; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by four half brothers, Ralph I. Patton, and Earl, Herbert and Raymond Frederick; and a half sister, Esther Jordan.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect St., Andover, Ohio.
The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Espyville Cemetery.
