TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Ola Mae Lamb-Wilson, 71, of Tallahassee, Fla., formerly of Meadville, passed away Monday, June 22, 2009, at home.
Ola Mae was born in Midway, Fla., on Sept. 14, 1937, the daughter of the late Eugene and Marjorie (Parker) Lamb. On June 20, 1959, Ola Mae married Gerald Lewis Wilson. He preceded her in death in 1974.
For more than 40 years, Ola Mae was a devoted, hard-working, self-employed housekeeper who took pride in her domestic work. She attended schools in Midway and was converted at an early age. Ola Mae’s hobbies included sewing, fishing and playing bingo, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Ola Mae is survived by three children, Geraldine Wilson-Davidson and her husband, Christopher, of Victorville, Calif., Robin Wilson and his girlfriend, Adrienne, of Midway, and James Wilson and his wife, Annesia, of Meadville; eight grandchildren, Juswan Wilson, Lashawna Wilson, Stephanie Davidson, Erica Davidson, Ryan Wilson, Aaron Wilson, Dorothy Wilson and Elesia Wilson; 15 great-grandchildren; six sisters, Vernell Lamb-Brown and her husband, Arthur, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Marjorie Lamb-Vactor, Emma Lamb-Lee, Amy Lamb, Annie Lamb-Houston, Mary Lamb and her companion, Ted, all of Midway; five brothers, Elijah Lamb, Robert Lamb and his wife, Katherine, both of Tallahassee, Eugene Lamb Jr. and his wife, Deloris, Charles Lamb and his wife, Diane, both of Midway, and Willie Lamb Sr. and his wife, Vivian, of Bainbridge, Ga.; three sisters-in-law, Margaret Lamb of Midway, Annette Bishop of Erie and Heddy Keith of Milwaukee, Wis.; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her husband, Gerald, and her parents, Ola Mae was preceded in death by three brothers, Lewis Parker Sr., Roosevelt Lamb Sr. and Cecil Lamb.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, where a Home Going Service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, with the Rev. Berta Newsome, pastor of United Faith Fellowship Church, officiating.
Interment will take place in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Meadville.
