Louis Vincent Stadler

DEERFIELD, Ill. — Louis Vincent Stadler of Deerfield, Ill., died Tuesday, June 9, 2009, after a short illness.
Lou was a graduate of Meadville High School and Allegheny College. Early in his career, Lou served in the U.S. Merchant Marines, and then in the U.S. Army. At the time of his retirement, he was vice president of Human Resources at Jewel Foods Inc. of Chicago, Ill.
Lou was born April 5, 1928, to Harry Albert and Florence Emeline Vincent Stadler of Utica. He married the love of his life, Ruth Steinle, in 1952, and with Ruth, had four children, Susan Alexander of Vernon Hills, Ill., Ann (Keith) Sarpolis of Evanston, Ill., Louis (Nancy) Stadler Jr. of Wichita, Kan., and James (Jennifer) Stadler of Glenview, Ill. He was also the cherished grandfather of eight grandchildren.
Lou is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and a sister, Sara Stadler (Merle) Wareham of Sandy Lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Eileen Stadler (John) Heffern.
Lou was a loving and devoted husband, a strong and supportive father, a loving brother and a dear, loyal friend to many.
The funeral and interment were held June 12 in Deerfield at Zion Lutheran Church.
Arrangements were handled by Kelley and Spalding Funeral Home, Deerfield.
