Published June 17, 2009 08:47 pm - AUSTINTOWN, Ohio — Frances J. Green, 87, formerly of Meadville, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at Hospice House, Poland, Ohio, after a short illness. Mrs. Green lived at Victoria House in Austintown, Ohio, and had a home at Hunters Woods in Canfield, Ohio.

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio — Frances J. Green, 87, formerly of Meadville, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at Hospice House, Poland, Ohio, after a short illness. Mrs. Green lived at Victoria House in Austintown, Ohio, and had a home at Hunters Woods in Canfield, Ohio.
She was born Dec. 3, 1921, in Meadville, one of 11 children of Frank and Loretta Guenther. She married Charles Green on Feb. 14, 1942, having met while both were employed by Talon Inc. The couple and their children moved to the Youngstown, Ohio, area in 1958. Her husband preceded her in death in 1972.
Mrs. Green was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, and her greatest joy was being with her family.
Before retiring, Mrs. Green worked as a mail teller at Dollar Bank, Youngstown.
She leaves to cherish her memory, four children, a son, Thomas (Lynn) Green of Thornville, Ohio, and three daughters, Joanne (Robert) Dobson of Boardman, Ohio, and Patricia (David) Machingo and Mary Ellen (Dale) Rhinehart, both of Canfield; a former son-in-law, Erich Schuller of Youngstown; two sisters, Joan Butcher and Alice Price, both of Meadville; eight grandchildren, Kristen Brinkman of Dublin, Ohio, Craig (Cindy) Schuller of Connecticut, Evonne Schuller of Hilliard, Ohio, Charles (Ronda) Schuller of Struthers, Ohio, Matthew Machingo of Kent, Ohio, Ryan Machingo and Breann Machingo, both of Canfield, and Jay Rhinehart of Youngstown. She also leaves nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and three brothers.
Friends may call from 5 until 9 p.m. today and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel, 3701 Starr’s Centre Drive, Canfield.
Prayers will begin at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Canfield, followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 1 p.m. at St. Michael Church in Canfield.
Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.
