— LINESVILLE — John Donald Ortmann Jr., 48, of Linesville, passed away Monday, June 15, 2009, at his residence.
Born Oct. 11, 1960, in Ford City, he was a son of John Donald Sr. and Mary Esther Myers Ortmann.
He was a 1978 graduate of Linesville High School and attended Penn State University.
He was a very gifted computer animator and worked on several projects for major film companies.
John had a love for space exploration. In his spare time, he enjoyed making models of spacecrafts and received recognition throughout the world for some of his projects.
Survivors include his parents, John Donald Sr. and Mary Esther Ortmann of Linesville; a son, Brandon Ortmann of Linesville; Brandon’s mother, Cindy Taylor of Moon Township, and Brandon’s sister, Jamila Olowinski and her husband, Steve, of Erie; two sisters, Renee Kehn of Springboro, and Becky Miller and her husband, Gary, of Linesville; a brother, Chris Ortmann and his wife, Marcie, of Lyndora; and a niece and several nephews.
Calling hours and the funeral will be private.
Burial will be private in Evergreen Cemetery in Harmonsburg.
