CONNEAUTVILLE — Curtis McCloud, 72, of Conneautville, died Monday, May 19, 2008, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Born Feb. 26, 1936, in Harts Creek, W.Va., he was a son of Orbra Farley and Joe Dillon.

He had attended Calvary Baptist Church.

Curtis was a truck driver for May Company in Cleveland, Ohio. He had served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He enjoyed the outdoors and nature, especially feeding the birds in his back yard. Curtis also enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. He was a loving father and grandfather and cherished the time he spent with his family.

Survivors include four children, Ellen Greer of Jacksonville, Fla., Avery Leimkuehler of Lompoc, Calif., Patricia McCloud of Conneautville and Gene McCloud of Cleveland; his former wife, Helen McCloud of Vermillion, Ohio; three stepchildren, John Kuhn of Wisconsin, and Melvin Kuhn and Melinda Ferry, both of Vermillion; five grandchildren, Billy, Jerry, Brian, Carol and Amanda McCloud; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous stepgrandchildren; two brothers, Frank Dillon and Darrell Farley; three sisters, Bethel Reed, Sylvia Spurlock and Lillian Dillon; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Shawn McCloud, who prepared his garden for him in heaven.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joe Pritchard officiating.

Burial with full military honors provided by Meadville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006 will be in Linesville Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, Crawford Unit, 464 Pine St., Meadville, Pa. 16335.
