COCHRANTON — Carll W. Emert, 70, of 23308 County Line Road, Cochranton, died Monday, May 19, 2008, at Meadville Medical Center.

Born June 27, 1937, in Kingsley, he was a son of Walter H. and Katheryn Carll Emert. He married Coletta Sue Jewel May 24, 1958.

He was a 1956 graduate of Meadville High School.

He began working for Sivik’s Salvage. He also was the regional supervisor for Unadillo Silo Co. and was the parts manager for Dunn’s Construction. His last job prior to becoming disabled was at Allegheny College in the security department.

He was a charter member of the Cochranton Sportsmen’s Club, and a member of the National Rifle Association and the Northwest Fishing Club.

He enjoyed gardening, fishing, the Pittsburgh Steelers, NASCAR and wrestling. Mostly he was remembered for his practical jokes and the many friends that he made, which he accepted like family.

Survivors, in addition to his wife of nearly 50 years, include two sons, Douglas Emert and his wife, Maria, of Cochranton, and Dennis Emert of Monroeville; a daughter, Deborah DuPont and her companion, Tom Bean, of Cochranton; three grandchildren, Kathleen Maria Emert, Brian Douglas Emert and Matthew Bradley DuPont; and a sister, Genevieve Howick and her husband, Albert, of Cochranton.

He was preceded in death by twin sisters, Carolyn Sivik and Marilyn Johnson.

Friends may call at Dickson Family Funeral Home Inc., 123 S. Franklin St., Cochranton, today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday from the funeral home, with the Rev. John McGarvey of Cochranton Christian and Missionary Alliance Church officiating.

Interment will be in Cochranton Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to Cochranton Volunteer Fire Department, East Adams Street, Cochranton, Pa. 16314.
