CONNEAUTVILLE — Mona M. Wiley Proper, 84, of Rolling Fields, Conneautville, and formerly of Meadville, died Sunday, May 18, 2008, at Rolling Fields.
Born in Meadville Nov. 1, 1923, she was a daughter of Fredrick and Edith Betts DuChanois. She married William A. Wiley Sr. Aug. 17, 1940; he preceded her in death Nov. 17, 1966. She married Lawrence E. Proper Jan. 22, 1972; he preceded her in death Sept. 9, 1996.
She was an operator with Talon for 19 years, retiring in 1986.
She was a life member of the Ex-Prisoner of War Association. She was also active in Active Aging before she became ill.
She was affiliated with First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, William A. Wiley and his wife, Mary, of Meadville, and Robert L. Wiley and his wife, Jane, of Georgia; a daughter, Linda Reagle and her husband, Ed, of Springboro; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Torrance of Ojai, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lucille Ketcham and Evelyn Burkhart; her husbands; and two great-grandchildren, Terie’ Reagle and Michaela Reagle.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m. at Roofner-Collins Funeral Home Inc., 544 Chestnut St., Meadville.
The funeral and committal service will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Temple Jarrell of First Church of God officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Meadville.
The family requests memorials be made to Rolling Fields, 9108 State Highway 198, Conneautville, Pa. 16406.
