JAMESTOWN — Linda A. Kerns Buffham, 65, of Adamsville Road, Jamestown, died Friday, May 9, 2008, at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh.
Mrs. Buffham was born Aug. 30, 1942, in Circleville, W.Va., daughter of the late Herbert and Freddie Marie Johnston Kerns.
She was married to Hugh A. Buffham Sr. July 31, 1958, and was a homemaker and member of Atlantic Community Church. She attended East Fallowfield and Conneaut Lake schools and was a graduate of Newport Pacific High School in Los Angeles, Calif. She was proud of her research work at the U.S. Embassy Library in Bonne, Germany, and was active in church functions. She loved her family, traveling, cooking, hiking, gardening, her cats and her dog, Baxter.
She is survived by her husband, Hugh A. Buffham Sr.; a son, Hugh A. Buffham Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, both of Jamestown; a daughter, Teresa A. Miller and her husband, Dale, both of Westford; a sister, Barbara Galbraith and her husband, Max, both of Jamestown; two brothers, Robert L. Kerns and his wife, Marilyn, both of Linesville, and John L. Kerns and his wife, Edna, both of Fredonia; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to both parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David A. Buffham; a half brother, Jewel Vandervander; and a brother, Charles Larry Kearns.
Calling hours were Monday at Randall Funeral Home, 416 Liberty St., Jamestown.
Additional calling hour is today from 10 to 11 a.m. at Atlantic Community Church, Atlantic Lake Road. The funeral is today at 11 a.m. at the church, with Pastor Jeff Sterling officiating.
Burial will be in Rock Glen Cemetery, Adamsville.
The family suggests memorials be made to the American Heart Association, 933 Park Ave., Meadville, Pa. 16335; or Atlantic Community Church, Atlantic Lake Road, Atlantic, Pa. 16111.
