CONNEAUTVILLE — Ilene S. Troupe, 94, of 9108 State Highway 198, Conneautville, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2008, at Rolling Fields.
She was born at Spankle Mills Dec. 8, 1913, a daughter of the late Charles and Minnie Myers Frye. She married Irvin C. Davis; he preceded her in death in 1958. She subsequently married Carl Troupe; he preceded her in death in 1991.
Ilene worked for Spaulding’s for 26 years and the housekeeping department of Meadville Medical Center (the former City Hospital), retiring in 1963. She attended First Presbyterian Church of Meadville.
She lived in Ohio with her daughter, Wanda Mattern, until Wanda’s death in June 2000, then moved to Holland Towers in Meadville, then to Ohio with her granddaughter, Melissa, and Rolling Fields two years ago.
Ilene was a wonderful friend, mom, grandma and aunt. She cared for everyone and will be sadly missed.
Survivors include a son-in-law, William Mattern of Meadville; a stepdaughter, Joanne Ruffing of Greenville; three granddaughters; two grandsons; six great-granddaughters; four great-grandsons; a great-great-granddaughter, Emma; a great-great-nephew; a sister, Mae Dinger of Conneautville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her daughter, she was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at White-Cool Funeral Home, 1405 Main St., Conneautville, and attend the service at 1:30 at the funeral home, with Pastor Dave Acker officiating.
Interment will be in Conneautville Cemetery.
