Florence A. McKinley Peters, 82, formerly of Laurel Drive, Meadville, died Monday, May 5, 2008, at Golden Living Center, Meadville.
Born in Meadville March 30, 1926, she was a daughter of V.I. and Edith G. McKinley. She married Glenn E. Peters March 18, 1973; he preceded her in death June 3, 1996.
She attended Meadville schools and was a 1977 graduate of Wilmar Beauty Academy. She was a self-employed beauty operator in Meadville for 20 years.
She attended First Church of God, Leslie Road, Meadville.
She and her husband had their own musical combo called the Mel-O-Tone Duo and played in the Meadville area for many years
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Wagner and his wife, Clara, and Phillip Post, all of Meadville; six grandchildren; a brother, Victor McKinley and his wife, Ethel, of Berne, Ind.; 16 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews and cousins
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, five sisters and three brothers.
Calling hours are today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Hatheway-Tedesco Funeral Home, 614 Baldwin St., Meadville.
The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home; New Apostolic Church will officiate.
Entombment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
